THE STORY OF FABRIC
Petit Bateau also adopts an innovative approach to its materials and has the know-how to create intelligent fabrics from its all-time favourite: cotton.
In 1960, the brand invented “velours” pajamas in a shape which allowed for freedom of movement and a design which gradually allowed little ones to dress themselves. The super soft material retains its shape in the wash and keeps them cosy in bed.
Other fabrics which have been developed over the course of the brand’s history include tube knit, a lightweight, supple, breathable flannelette with motifs embossed into the fabric and wool and cotton, using a rare technique perfected by Petit Bateau: wool outside, cotton inside, for warmth and comfort.
